The SCSB Story

The Company formerly known as Teon Choon Realty Company Limited, incorporated under the Federation of Malaya on 25 Jan 1960, operates in the Oil Palm Tree Farming industry.

The Company then was owned by a Singaporean businessman. In April 1966, the Company change its name to Teon Choon Realty Company Sdn. Berhad (TCRC).

In April 2003, Tradewinds (M) Berhad purchase 100% equity shares equivalent to RM87 million in TCRC’s from Pernas Security Sdn Bhd a wholly owned subsidiary of Pernas International Holdings Bhd (PIHB). In October 2004, Tradewinds Plantation Berhad purchase 100% equity of TCRC from Tradewinds (M) Berhad, as part of the Tradewinds’s group core businesses restructuring exercise.

In April 2018, Tradewinds Plantion Berhad dispose its 51% shareholding in TCRC to MKD Kencana Sdn Bhd (a wholly owned subsidiary of MOF). These share disposal exercise has made TCRC now as the Government Investment Company (GIC).

In 23 April 2021, MKD Kencana Sdn Bhd acquired the remaining 49% shareholding in TCRC thus making TCRC as a wholly owned Government Investment Company.

Effective 18 November 2021 TCRC changes its name to Southern Catalyst Sdn Bhd.

The Company headquarter and official business address is at Unit B-G-01, CoPlace 1, 2270, Jalan Usahawan 2, 63000 Cyberjaya, Selangor.
